Recycling as a way of caring for the world

We are confident that each of us should take care of the environment in which we live. That is why today we want to talk about the importance of recycling and how we use it in manufacturing different types of plastic packaging. 

Let's start by answering the main question: what is recycling? In simple words, this is a complete processing of raw materials for reuse. This process enables giving a second breath to already exhausted and unnecessary things.

Things that are recyclable: 

• plastic; 
• polyethylene; 
• paper; 
• glass; 
• metal and some other materials. 

We especially want to talk in detail about polyethylene recycling. This is exactly the topic that our team specializes particularly well on. 

Recycling polyethylene: why we do it 

First of all, one of the main goals of Istok is taking care of the environment and maintain the quality of products. That is why we, like many world leaders, try to use as much recycled raw materials as possible in production of packaging. This helps to reduce the amount of waste in landfills and prevent negative consequences from it: 

• release of toxic filtrate; 
• poisonous clouds of smoke due to combustion of waste; 
• huge areas allocated for landfills that can be used more efficiently. 

The first two points are very dangerous for human health and ecology, and the last one shows an inefficient distribution of resources. 

In order to use more recycled raw materials in production, we created our own laboratory. This enabled the company to produce granule whose properties are no worse than those of initial material. 

It is also important to understand what sorting and processing polyethylene are considered the best option for preserving the environment. Instead of throwing packages away, take them to a raw material processing point. 

If the plastic bag is strong, use it several times until it becomes unusable. Only after that you can take the plastic to the place for receiving and processing materials. 

Remember: if the world situation does not change, "trash islands" will become 10-15 times larger, and aquatic and terrestrial inhabitants will not be able to exist normally. Let us remind, that according to the calculations of scientists, due to planet's pollution with plastic, at least 100 million marine mammals die every year. Let's help to ourselves, the animals and preserve the nature together. 

Recycling: purchase of raw materials

We want to thank everyone for their time on the ecology problem, therefore we are pleased to announce that the company has opened a permanent purchase of polyethylene waste: 

• high-pressure polyethylene film waste (LDPE); 
• low-pressure polyethylene film waste (HDPE);
• stretch film waste. 

More detailed requirements for purchased waste: 

• we accept LDPE film waste depending on the grade (transparent, gray, colored); 
• we accept HDPE film waste depending on the grade (transparent, colored); 
• we accept only transparent stretch film waste; 

Please note: if the purchased materials doesn’t fit one or several requirements, you need to clarify the price and weight according to the existing deviations. 

Polyethylene is not accepted if: 

• it contains food residues, chemical or construction bulk materials; 
• it is in oil or fat. 

If the film meets the requirements, we will be happy to accept it and pay you. After all, one thing we know for sure: good deeds should not go unnoticed.
